Torrent reviews The Seasoning House () is a 2012 horror film written and directed by Paul Hyett, about a team of men who take shelter in a dilapidated house when a pack of wolves goes on a rampage. As the house is empty, the men settle in and spend the night. After leaving the house the next morning, they find the house locked from the inside with a plate of food on the door. They find a woman in the woods, an orphaned deaf mute, tied up and cowering. Notes A sequel to his first feature-length film, Mothering Sunday, The Seasoning House features the same cast, most notably Eamon Farren, Rosie Day and Anna Walton. A third film in the series is in development with the working title of The Convent. It was shot at locations around Deeping St James and South Kelsey in Lincolnshire, England. Reception Critical response Tina Shakes of The Escapist rated it 3.5/5 stars and wrote that the movie is "very much in the vein of the Swedish film Let the Right One In, but with a lot more action and gore" and that "On the whole it’s a fantastic genre film that combines a lot of elements that most genre films miss, from a solid script to great performances". Awards The movie was nominated for the Golden Mike Award at the Sheffield Horrorfest in October 2012. In March 2013 it was nominated for the International Horror Guild Award in the 2012 Feature Film category, and Rosie Day, as Anna, was nominated for the Best Actress award in the 2012 Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards. DVD release The DVD for The Seasoning House was released on 26 April 2012 through Lionsgate Home Entertainment in the USA.
